The idea behind Photoswap is pretty interesting. The whole app revolves around just sharing pictures between users. What you do is you take a picture and it sends it off to whoever. Then it shows you a picture that another user has taken. You can then reply to that specific picture with another picture, or just send out a random picture again and see what you get in response.
The app doesn't allow you to use exisiting pictures or save those pictures that you've taken with this app for use in other places. That means that you may have to sacrafice a really nice picture to send to some random stranger instead of just saving that picture in on your phone.

The camera snaps the picture just as well as the regular app does. Plus the quality stays in tact as you can tell from the received photos.
Photoswap isn't for everyone. You have to really enjoy seeing new and weird pictures, plus there really isn't a content filter, so you never know what you're going to get (in 30 minutes of use, there were no inappropriate pictures). You can set your own username or just use whatever default one they give you, but these options aren't in the app, they're in the iPhone settings area.
You can actually see the location of who sent you the picture. Considering theres a function that pulls it up in Google Maps, it would be amazing for it to let you put a little tack in the map showing that you've received images from there. People all over the world are using this app, so it's pretty neat what you can see. But overall, this isn't something that will catch on for anyone who isn't a photography fanatic.

Less is More and Less

Photoswap is a simple idea that is fun in short bursts.
Part of the appeal is its simplicity. You just shoot and reply, shoot and reply.
"Replying" to the photos is the most fun, because it can lead to some great opportunities for improvisation. for example if someone takes a picture or their car, you can respond with a picture of your own .. or if someone sends something circular you can shoot something circular. This leads to a neat back and forth that can be lots of fun in short burst.
One thing i find lacking is that once you've engaged in an interesting back and for it is gone forever. You can't save conversations or share them with frineds in any way, and some of them are definitely worth sharing.

Excellent ap if you could BLOCK the weirdos...

This is a fun ap. I recommend it to use with your friends for entertainment.

If you are easily offended by uncreative "alternate lifestyle" men or desperate latent homsexual perverts hiding behind their iphone's, then you should probably not download this ap.

I have had a great time with my friends with this ap in spite of the overwhelming amount of uncreative men flooding it with photos taken from their couch. Although the good interactions were few and far between, there were definitely a few fun and interesting go-round's.

If there was a way to save some people to your "favorites", or "friends", this would make the ap much more functional. More importantly if there was a way to BLOCK unwanted users, you would avoid the losers that keep sending out pictures of their hairy legs 50 times per hour fishing for their next perverse experience. If these changes were made I would give it 5 stars!!!
