PictoPlay is a game produced by Digitial Chocolate that has an interesting concept. The game plays like a stripped down version of Pictionary where the computer draws an object and the players have to guess what the object being drawn is. The game will draw many different shapes and the player must try to guess the object before the time runs out. There is an option to play single player, multiplayer and complete some interesting challenges such as the vanishing wax challenge where the drawing disappears as it is drawn.
The game has a young cartoony feel to it and the music is a repetitive loop of polka music that can sometimes get a bit annoying.
The game itself I found to be pretty hard but after getting the hang of the drawing style, the images were a bit easy to complete. The game does not have many more mechanics to flaunt other than these images so I was having a hard time finding features to review. The game gets pretty old after a few rounds and I found myself looking for a new game pretty quickly.
For those of you who want a fun little game to play together with your children, PictoPlay will help you with that. But for the majority of us out there, you really should think twice before investing in this game. It gets old really quickly and doesn't really provide enough content to justify purchasing it. There is a free version to try out in the app store so I suggest grabbing that first and seeing if this is really something you want on your device.
