Pocket Jockey is a horseracing game for the iPhone and iPod Touch that has some of the most interesting control schemes out of any game available on these devices. This game attempts to drag you in to feeling as if you actually are racing a horse.
The graphics wise, the game isn?t complex at all. It has that arcade style horseracing game where the LED?s make up the specific horses. This really adds to the whole classic feel that the game seems to be going for and allows you to keep the focus on the how you play the game.
There are three different play methods. First, you can hold your device in front of your face and jump up and down like you?re galloping and flick the device to whip your horse.
Second, you can throw the device in your back pocket and gallop around, smacking your butt for the whip effect. And third, you can simply tap the screen and flick the device to whip your horse. The method that you choose is really up to you, but any way you play is going to be enjoyable.
This game is definitely kind of gimmicky, but it?s honestly a lot of fun. Granted, you won?t be playing anything but the third control scheme unless you?re in the privacy of your own home. Besides that, this is a really enjoyable game that is definitely something you should check out. Especially considering it has a multiplayer feature for group embarrassment.
