PocketDyno is a performance measuring app for your car. This app works on the iPhone and iPod Touch to help you get the most out of your vehicle. There are two versions of this app, lite and full, with the full version having a good deal more customization then you would expect. In this review, we've chosen to focus on the lite version.
When you first load up the app it's going to ask you to calibrate it. You're going to want to calibrate it in the specific car you want to determine the performance of. Once you make it through the calibration, you'll want to leave your iPhone on a flat surface where it won't move around. This can be difficult to accomplish, but for accuracy it needs to be done.
With your car at a complete stop, press the Quickstart button and start accelerating. This app is used to test performance for drag racing, so you'll probably want to put the pedal to the metal when you're testing this out. After the app has gathered its information, you'll be able to see the estimated horsepower, your zero to sixty time, max g's, velocity, and distance. To the right person, this information is very useful when fine tuning your car.
The full version of this app allows you to enter in all of the vital information that make the rest of the tests more accurate. In the lite version, you'll have to deal with approximations regarding weight and such. This app isn't for everyone and considering drag racing isn't legal, you may or may not have a personal use for this app.
