Pop is a game for the iPhone and iPod Touch that has you popping bubbles in an attempt to get a high score. This review covers the full version of the game as the developers have been releasing the individual modes as standalone apps.
Pop is broken down into five different modes, not counting the training mode. These modes are just different methods of play. There?s the normal and advanced modes that allow you to increase your timer in an attempt to gain a high score. Chill mode is a completely free play mode with no timer or high score.
Timed mode is your typical race against the clock for the highest number of points. And there?s even a bonus mode for you to play through.
The way you play the game is actually pretty interesting. In the main game, you?ll get more points for tapping the little bubbles and more time added to the clock for the bigger bubbles. Grapping and shaking a bubble will make it bigger and eventually explode, taking out other bubbles as well. You?ll want to try and stick with the same color bubbles to get higher multipliers, but sometimes this just isn?t possible.
The game can go from relaxing to stressful depending on how good you are at it (see also: we stunk at it) so your experience may vary. With the ability to play your own music when playing pop and iSave functionality to continue where you left off, Pop is one of the best puzzle games out for the iPhone right now.
