Puzzle Quest: Chapter 1 is a puzzle RPG game for the iPhone and iPod Touch. This game has graced multiple platforms in a full version and is now hitting the iPhone and iPod Touch broken into three different chapters of that same version.
This game does an amazing job at combining puzzle and RPG. Instead of the normal combat you?re use to in an RPG, Puzzle Quest replaces that with what at it?s most basic could be compared to Bejeweled. Basically, you?ll be taking turns moving pieces on the board to make a minimum of three in a row. Each colored piece you clear earns you elemental points of that color.

These points can be spent on special attacks that you earn as you gain levels by completing quests and winning puzzles There are other pieces on the board as well that will do direct damage to your opponent or give you money to buy equipment as you progress in the game. The object of each puzzle battle is to eliminate your opponent by damaging them through connecting the skulls on the board or dealing damage through your elementally powered attacks.
Puzzle Quest offers up plenty of quests for you to take on as you go through the main storyline and all the side quests. The total play time for this chapter of the game is expected to be around 20 hours if you complete all the quests. Considering it?s one of three chapters, that?s not too shabby for the price they?re asking. The only issue we ran into was the text size was often a little too small to read very easily. Regardless of that issue, definitely download Puzzle Quest.

Horrible Port

User rated 2/5
Review by amn624

All of the rating stars would undoubtedly be higher if this port had been done properly, e.G., with the iPhone's capabilities as the main consideration.  As is, yes, it is PuzzleQuest but the fonts are unreadable and everything suffers as a result.
If you've already played the game and know what's going on, then you may be okay with a typeface that is practically invisible but if you're a PQ newbie (like me), don't bother, it will only be a very frustrating experience.
I was actually shocked when I first started the game.  Even the tutorial text was nearly impossible to read and my eyesight is fine when I use reading glasses.   There's also a lot of inexplicable blurriness on graphics screens and that also detracts from one's enjoyment.
The only good news is iTunes immediately refunded my purchase price and the developer has promised that readability will be their primary goal for an update.  When that happens, I'll take another chance.  Until then, PQ is a no-go for me.
