Radar is a news app for the iPhone and iPod Touch that lets you see the news around you. This app even lets you see surrounding areas so if where you live isn?t exactly hopping you can still see if anything else is.
When you load up the app it?s going to ask to locate you. Once it does that, it will pull up the information for your town and the ones surrounding it. Depending on how much is actually going on that Radar will pick up will determine how many tabs there are at the bottom of the app.

Tapping on any of these articles will bring up a small excerpt from the story and a link to the full story which will be opened inside the app itself.
If you want to see a map view of the area you?re in you can either tap the map button or shake your device. Both options will bring you over to there and allow you to see the Microsoft Visual Earth view of your area. You can zoom in and out just like you can on Google Maps but in this version of the map, the news stories are flags on there so you can better see what is happening where.
This is a really cool idea, especially if you live in a popular area. You?ll surely find plenty of extra information with this app as it pulls from local news sources you might usually skip over. If you enjoy following local news or are just looking for a way to better keep your eyes open regarding local news, this app is it.
