React is an interactive game for the iPhone and iPod Touch that has many similarities to the toy Bop It. In fact, React is essentially a digital version of the game Bop It.
This is a pressure building game where you?re timed on your reactions. The object is to follow along with what the app is telling you to do as fast as you possibly can. As you continue to beat each level the time limit that you?re allotted decreases, meaning your response time needs to decrease as you get further into the game. React will ask you to slide it, pinch it, poke it, and shake it.
In the earlier levels of this game you?ll have no difficulty with clearing a level. But as you continue to play, you?ll really enjoy the fact that you have five lives to prevent you from a game over. React is a little bit too sensitive to your needs and allows you to press pause in the bottom right hand corner of the game and also requires you to tap the screen before you advance to the next round. This doesn?t seem like a big deal, but being able to take that break might help you win the next round.
React is a great example of how an app can really use all aspects of the device. This game isn?t anything great and just like Bop It, you?ll forget about it pretty quickly. The voice telling you what to do in the game does get annoying after awhile, just because of how the person is saying the words, but before you get to that point, you?ll probably have already stopped using this app. If you can catch this app for free, great. If not, pass on it.
