Having the ability to check out the nutritional information for a restaurant you're going to eat at is pretty handy. Considering that's the idea behind the Restaurant Nutrition app, sounds like a must have app, right? Well at it's concept it definitely is, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to work out as well as one would hope.
The app seems to almost only list out fast food restaurants and other big chain locations. Some of them don't even apply to the area that you're in, cluttering your screen when a simple location check would have shown that theres none of them around where you're going. This isn't that big of a deal, but when you've never seen a Carl Jr.'s in your life, it can be obnoxious.
You can set a profile and monitor what you eat, as each menu allows you to pick the specific items on it and track whether you ate it today or yesterday. Also, the app will show you the locations for the restaurants that it has listed that are in your area, which is kind of nice especially if you're looking for a specific meal.
Having all this information is great, especially in a mobile format. But even interfacing with thePHRnetwork.com to monitor your progress online doesn't make up for the lack of restaurants that this app has. Although they will be expanding, that doesn't do much for us today.
