Ringtone Recorder Pro does exactly what its name implies. It records ringtones. We\'ve all had that moment where we wished we could make our own custom ringtones without paying for a song off iTunes. I was kind of excited to try this one out as I wanted a simple way to record ringtones straight to my phone.

What I got though was an email-based service that required me to get on my pc and sync to iTunes. But that wasn\'t the only disappointing thing about this app. The app is set up very simply. Press the record button and record whatever goes into your iPhone\'s mic. When you are finished, play it back and then save it. It is then emailed to your email address as an M4R format also known as the ringtone format for iTunes. You can then drag it into your iTunes and sync.

There are a ton of limitations this way though. You can only record through your mic so the quality will be less than amazing almost every time. You can\'t record ringtones on the fly because you still have to go back to your computer and sync your phone every time.

For what it is claiming to do, it works fine. But there are free alternatives out there that will let you make your own ringtones right on your pc with extremely high quality sound. An app like this ends up being a bit too cumbersome and too simplistic to stick. I recommend doing a Google search on making M4Rs and you\'ll see what a difference in quality can be achieved.
