Rochambeau is a Rock, Paper, Scissors app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. This game offers both an online and offline solution for those of you itching to play some Rock, Paper, Scissors but can?t seem to find a friend.
The app has a very weird cartoony feel to it. The first thing you?re going to want to do, even before you create your profile, is to turn the music off. If not, expect to go nuts within the first two minutes of hearing it. After that, create your profile, including your AIM screen name if you have friends with this app already on your buddy list. Once your account is created, you?re all set to play some Rock, Paper, Scissors.
Whether you want to play against the computer or someone online is up to you, but once you enter a game, you?ll have to select your character and choose the number of rounds you want to play. If you do decide to play online, there is a chat function that will allow you to type whatever you want, so get ready for some serious trash talking. There are three different control schemes. One uses touch, the other two use two different sets of gestures to determine what you?d like to throw down. It?s really up to you as to what you want to do as far as control scheme, each option does the same thing in the end.
This game is very gimmicky and you?ll get bored with it quickly. Rock, Paper, Scissors is a boring game without the iPhone. Just because it?s digital, doesn?t mean it?s fun. Plus, there are plenty of other great online games for the iPhone that are much more enjoyable. If you?re a diehard Rock, Paper, Scissors, download this app. For the rest of the world? Pass!
