Rollercoaster rush is a smaller game produced by Digital Chocolate that offers a very simple gameplay mechanic. The entire idea of the application is to guide a roller coaster along its path and to give the riders the best experience possible. This is achieved by speeding up and slowing down the roller coaster cart with the different buttons. The courses have different elements such as loop-da-loops and long drops that can challenge your braking and speeding abilities. Go too fast and you could crash your cart on jumps, go too slow and your riders won't enjoy it enough. Each time the riders get a thrill on a ride, the game adds some smiley points to your total. The goal is to earn enough smileys to get a higher star rating and eventually move on to the next level.
There are over 70 levels on the game but the issue for me came within the first 5.
The game is ultra linear, providing almost the exact same experience over and over again with some different tracks thrown in to keep it from getting boring. After about the 10th level, I began to realize that the game really didn't have any other gameplay mechanic. Many times I found myself able to fly through levels without ever braking and it really took away from the challenge of the game.
For the price that it is being asked, I don't think it is worth it. It's not one of Digital Chocolate's better games. There is a lite version in the app store to check out, so I suggest looking into that before ever considering purchasing the full app. The gameplay was fun for a bit, but it gets mildy repetitive quickly and frankly after a while, it just gets boring. Check out the lite version and see for yourself. Maybe some of you will find more value in it than I was able to.
