Scratch turns your iPhone into a mobile scratch pad. You've got just a few basic options laid out for you, but these options are pretty neat for an app that turns your iPhone into a musical instrument. The question is, are they neat enough to keep you entertained for awhile?
You're presented with a small selection of prerecorded sounds and beats that you can load onto your turn table. On the turn table there is the information for how long the track is and how far into it you are, plus controls for the volume and its level.
When you scratch a track, you can actually see the digital time display change with how you're scratching it.
The tracks auto-repeat, so you'll need to start scratching unless you want to go nuts listening to the same track over and over. You do this by tapping or dragging on the left hand side of the screen. you can pull it in reverse or speed it up, plus you can just hold it in place if you just wanted to.
The lack of tracks mixed with the lack of options on the actual turntable will have you questioning exactly how much longer you can hear that bomb warning. It's fun for a little bit but without more features you're going to burn out fast. Plus you can't really record what you've done to show people for later.
