The iPhone leaves itself open for use as a great little doodle pad and that's exactly what the makers of Scribble have done with their app. This simple app allows you to draw on the iPhone's screen with your finger and the easily erase what's on there and start over. This isn't a complicated app or anything that you really need to think long and hard about before you try out, but it isn't quite as perfect as it could be.
You'd think that it wouldn't be that difficult to make an app like this flawless, but it's the little things that you don't think about during development that leave it in the sub par category. First off, you're limited to only 4 colors. Now, just for doodling, this isn't awful, but it wouldn't have been that much more difficult to offer some more options. Second, you're stuck with a default line width. No matter how chubby your fingers are, the line is still the same width.
The tool bar down bottom also covers some much needed drawing area, making it rather difficult to actually take advantage of the full screen. It would have been nice if you could have two finger tapped to pull up more than the blank background, but for some reason they chose not to do that.
This is a fun little app that is definitely worth downloading at least to try for a bit. But with oversight such as not having a clear button leaving you shaking your iPhone just to get a fresh pad, you may find yourself deleting this app before your third shake.
