Shapium is a puzzle game for the iPhone and iPod Touch that looks deceivingly easy and obnoxiously mysterious. The developers of the game have pretty much decided not to explain what Shapium is exactly, and that ploy may have actually worked at hooking those who give the app a chance into thoroughly enjoying it.
When you first start up the game, you'll just be placing butterflies into the spots on the board that they fit in. As the levels progress, more shapes will be added to the game. This makes things a little bit more difficult as some of the spots are all the way across the board. Keep in mind that not all spots are going to be visible from the start of the puzzle. Many of them will pop up as you get further along in the game.
You'll only realize how difficult this game is when you lose. Once two pieces make contact, there's no second chance. That means you'll have to keep an eye out for all of the pieces floating around the board while you try and move them into specific their assigned spaces. With each level adding more pieces and holding back more spaces, you'll soon realize this game is a lot more difficult then it looks.
The game has some really great graphics to compliment the simplistic game play. Everything from the background to the individual pieces look sharp and well designed. This does add to the appeal of the game, considering all you'll be doing is looking at the board and moving objects around. Surprisingly, those nice calm colors and the look that this game gives off is enough to convince you that your not going to have any issues beating this game. That's why the developers of this game have succeeded.
