Shooter is the official game based off the Shooter movie released in 2007. It features a similar storyline to the movie and really strives to put you behind the scope. That's actually exactly what it does. For the majority of the game the player will find himself looking from behind the scope of Bob Lee Swagger, the story's main character. You will use your binoculars to find a target region (a feature that seems a bit pointless after a while) and then switch to your rifle to start eliminating targets. Once behind the scope, the player tilts his device to aim the rifle.

To steady your shot you can hold your breath with the button on the left and then press the button on the right to fire a round. Once three rounds have been fired, the player must then reload by sliding the bar on the bottom of the screen.
For fans of sniper-style games, this game will definitely satisfy your craving and does a great job providing a deep experience. There will be some of you that will find this game a bit repetitive, as a lot of environments and missions feel eerily similar. But overall, for the extremely cheap price Paramount is asking for this app and the depth of story and fun sniping gameplay that it offers, I cannot find a reason why you wouldn't try this app out. It is definitely worth the price paid and is a well made game. Check it out today.

Boring

There is one word I could use to describe this game.

Boring.

As intuitive as the controls are. As realistic as the game is. This game is simply boring. The cutscenes are long and drawn out. Using the binoculars each time you clear one of the sniping missions becomes exhausting. Even the actual *game* part of the game doesn't last very long. There is no music, and I'd rather just keep the volume off when the characters are speaking. It's impossible (for me at least) to move left and right while steadying the aim. This may not seem like much, but anybody coming from a console or PC shooter will be frustrated with that. Zooming in and out would be nice as well, and get rid of some of the annoyances that come when trying to find the guy who's shooting holes through your body. The A.I. is not the smartest either. I picked off a guy who was standing in front of another person. No reaction from him as he doesn't seem to care if his buddy just had his head blown off. But when you do set them off, watch out because they can hit you easily even without a scope.

I would recommend against buying this app. It may be the best shooter compared to other sniping games in the app store, but it is definitely the most boring game in the app store. This may be your thing though, and if it is, then it will only cost you $1.99. Otherwise, it will leave you wishing there was a return policy for apps.
