Silent Hill is a horror/suspense game for the iPhone and iPod Touch. In this game you?ll find yourself trapped in a hospital style labyrinth full of demonic nurses and possessed wheelchairs.
This game has you control your character in two ways. First, you?ll be touching the screen wherever you like to bring up a d-pad for movement. The game feels like you?re moving from square to square but makes the transition smooth enough that you can only tell when you make it to a corner. Keep that in mind when you see a nurse round the corner and you want to chase after her.
The accelerometer controls where the crosshair points, and you do have a fair bit of control over it. Tapping the actual crosshair shoots the gun, so be careful as to where you set your d-pad considering how easy it is to accidentally fire your weapon if you try and swing around a corner. You?ll have to get good at aiming to not run out of bullets as you?re only given so many. To reload them, just press the button in the bottom right of the screen and line up the white lines to the barrels and tap the screen.
While you?re adventuring for the exit you?ll come across plenty of batteries to keep your light shining and of course a key to open the door. After you complete the level you?ll be shown a grading sheet telling you how well you?ve done. This, plus the spooky factor of the game if you play it alone in the dark with headphones, might extend this game through two play throughs. But when you get down to it, it?s really not that fun of a game. If you like Silent Hill or horror type games, consider checking it out. If you don?t, then pass on it.
