Silkworm 3D is an interesting take on the classic game of Worm or Snake for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Your goal is to navigate the silk worm around the 3D globe in an attempt to eat all the apples and survive. You?ll have to avoid hitting yourself and other objects if you want to make it through the level.
This game uses the accelerometer for control, so you?ll have to be in a place where you can really flip your phone around. As you move around the globe you?ll notice different objects pop up. You?ll want to eat the apples. This will cause the SilkWorm to make an obnoxious nom nom nom noise and then continue on its way. You?ll want to avoid hitting the blocks, vortex?s, and yourself as you travel around the globe, which can be difficult considering you grow with each apple.
SilkWorm3D allows you to jump every so often in an attempt to avoid hitting yourself. This is kind of a neat feature and is very lenient to accuracy. Chances are, if you?re close enough and do it, you?ll make the jump. As you continue to rack up points the levels do get harder. The difficulty doesn?t get too ridiculous but you can definitely feel it increase.
The developer stresses that there are so few similarities between Silkworm3D and Worm/Snake, but the premises of the game is exactly the same. Sure, you have a 3D environment, can jump, and there are new obstacles?, but it?s still the same game. This doesn?t mean it?s a bad game, but if you?re not the type of person to find yourself addicted to a game like Worm/Snake then you won?t stick with this game for very long.
