Skybound is a game for the iPhone and iPod Touch that has you create your own cloud platforms to launch your ball into the sky in an attempt to capture the highest score possible. This is a never ending type of game with a unique visual style and interesting gameplay.
In Skybound, you use your finger to draw a grouping of clouds for your ball to bounce off of. You can angle these clouds in which ever way you want, but the clouds only form in a straight line and can only stretch so far. As you bounce higher, the screen moves up to reveal more obstacles and power-ups. Depending on what you hit, your ball might wind up launching off the screen, turning blue signifying your immunity to dangerous objects, or turning red and becoming too heavy to bounce high.
The endless play mode is fun to dig into, but the boss mode is really what will catch your attention. In the Boss mode you?ll be able to attack a floating eyeball surrounded by mini floating eyeballs. You simply hit the main eyeball multiple times to kill it. It will continue to reappear and your goal is to kill it as many times as possible and gain a high score before you die.
Skybound is a game with no story and that?s actually kind of frightening. Are you the ball or the person drawing the clouds? What are all the random power-ups doing in the sky and why are you heading up into the sky in the first place? Also, your enemy is a floating eye? Skybound is a strange game to say the least. If there was a lite version to check out, we?d recommend it, but at its current price we don?t.
