The iPhone is no stranger to side-scrolling tower defense games. We've seen plenty of them flow from the app store with different art styles and tactics. Slug Wars is one of the latest entries into the genre proving that it is here to stay. In this game the player's goal is to get 3 of their slugs into the enemy's side. There are three different tracks to send various type of slugs onto.
As slugs travel down their path, they can pick up flowers that may be on the trail which with grant the player funds to purchase more slugs.
Those familiar with the genre know that the games can last for quite a while and after a few rounds of playing it can become really repetitive. Slug Wars was no exception to this and after playing it a few times, I became bored of sending out slug after slug. As you progress through the campaign, you will unlock different slugs to use in combat which changes the game up a bit.
But overall, the game was a little lackluster for me. It brought some interesting battles and good graphics but seemed to be a bit too boring to keep my interest. It's priced decently in the app store so if you enjoy this genre of games, check it out.
