This review is going to be a follow along of sorts. First off, take out your iPhone and go to your Photos app. Now select an image and press the button in the bottom left corner of the screen. Select Email Photo, then enter in the e-mail address of someone you think would enjoy that picture. Make sure to write out a nice subject heading and a message as well. Congratulations, you've just done what SodaSnap was made to do.
Making an app that takes the functionality that the iPhone already has and just puts a new shell on it isn't interesting. The fact is that SodaSnap doesn't do anything new besides sending the message and picture in a different format, slapping their logo on it, and also allows you to upload that ?postcard? to their website for others to use or just view.
There is absolutely no need for this app and it's very frustrating that it even exists. It requires you to enter in your email address before you even send your first ?postcard? and it's nice enough to give you access to your contacts so you don't have to enter in an email off the top of your head. But don't expect it to save it if you need to open up Safari and look for that person e-mail, you'll have to start over from scratch.
It doesn't seem to add anything additional to the quality of the photo and the fact that it presents you with an add once you send the ?postcard? is infuriating. I Am Rich is actually more useful then this app.
