Almost all of us have the childish desire hidden deep within to blow something up. Whether we've experienced it with fireworks or made our own homemade concoctions, there has always been that pull. Now there is a way to blow something up right from your iPhone or iPod Touch. Sonic Boom presents a digital explosive that can be resized and customized before being blown to a million pieces. The app gives users the opportunity to light their finger on fire, tapp the fuse and count down until the explosive is destroyed. If this sounds like the biggest thrill in the world to you, you obviously have some issues.

There really is no point to the app at all and after a few tries, I was ready to toss this app into the trash bin. The same sound is made for every size of the explosive and the effect really gets repetitive after a couple attempts. Even though the app provides the experience and the customization of the size of the explosive and wick, the app grew mundane very quickly. Perhaps the only meaningful feature this app has to offer is the ability to overlay a picture of something on top of the explosive and watch as it is blown to shards.

Overall, if this app was free, I could see it being a fun time killer that gets some laughs from those around you. But because this app is charging a price, I cannot with a clean conscience recommend this app to anyone but the more mentally disturbed customers. It is just too simple and has no replay value at all (unless you recently broke up with someone).
