Soosiz is a fun and creative platformer that will literally turn your world upside down. You control a tiny head-like figure that can run and jump around to collect coins, find secrets and destroy enemies along the way. The graphics, sounds and controls are all top-notch, combining to create a very successful game.
The concept of the game is simple: collect as many coins as you can while defeating enemies and discovering secret passages along the way. You control your character with three simple buttons. The two buttons on the lower left control direction while the button in the lower right allows you to jump. The worlds you travel in are mostly curvilinear, allowing you to walk on the underside of almost any platform. If a platform is curved and you don’t jump, you will always stick to the ground and the world around you will rotate, so you’re always facing upright. If the edge is straight, you will walk right off it and lose a life. You can also jump up to a neighboring platform to stick right to it and start walking again. One interesting feature is that when you do walk on the underside of a platform, the background actually changes. So, while on the topside it may be bright, the underside will be dark.

You will also encounter enemies during your travels. There are a variety of enemy characters including bosses at the end of certain levels. These enemies may be taken out by simply jumping on top of them. There are also obstacles that cannot be destroyed and can only be avoided.
The controls in this game are as simple and intuitive as can be. They are smooth and responsive, allowing you to remain fully in control at all times. The graphics and high quality sound and music truly captivate you into this crazy world that has been created. Animations are fluid and the visual effects are beautifully done.
The only issue I have with this game is the constant rotation of the world, which unfortunately is the game’s main gimmick, and what makes it unique. You’ll definitely need to take a break every now and then so you don’t feel sick. It’s just a little tough of the eyes, having the background spinning in all directions. Besides that, Soosiz is absolutely one of the best platformers in the app store to date. Its unique style and smooth, intuitive controls allow for an enjoyable experience by both casual and hardcore gamers alike. I highly recommend picking this one up.
