Office-type apps for the iPhone will always be a big hit. At one time or another, everyone will need to use a spreadsheet. So when the Spreadsheet app launched for the iPhone, people became very excited. Unfortunately this app appears to have been released a little bit prematurely.

While this app does allow you to do many great functions with a spreadsheet, it also manages to mess up some of the most basic ones. For example, it is currently not possible to use the standard division formula in a cell and get the correct answer if it involves decimal points. The app also doesn't include the spreadsheet as an attachment when it send it, but places it directly into the email it sends out and instructs you to use a Windows based email viewer to see your spreadsheet.

It does however provide copy and paste that work within a single spreadsheet. It would be excellent to see this expand so that you could copy and paste between multiple, but it is a step in the right direction. There are over 25 different mathematical functions, over 15 date related functions, and 6 string functions for you to use in your spreadsheet. You can do all of the standard formating of the cells that you're use to in full computer spreadsheet applications as well.

The missing features and errors that this app has make it difficult to work with. For the price you're paying, it's hard to justify giving this app a shot. If it was possible to fully export a spreadsheet without any issues and if all the functions worked, it would be easier to justify paying for this, but it is still a pretty high price.
