Star Guitar is a guitar emulator for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The goal of this app is provide a quick and easy way to whip out some chord progressions fast on your phone. With Star Guitar, users can plot out their progressions on their phone, have a makeshift guitar when needed or just play around and hear different chords. The app makes it simple by giving most common modifications of chords all on one interface that sync up with one of two strumming patterns. By selecting the different buttons, users can change the chords and create a progression easily on the fly. With three different guitar types available, users can find the sound they want and go at it. Users can record their progressions and also have the option to record voice on top of it.



Right from the beginning of my experience with this app I found it hard to see why someone might need a guitar replacement. If you play guitar, chances are you aren't going to want something that plays a lower quality version for you. People who need a quick reference to hear a chord may find this app useful.



I will say it is the best implementation of a guitar app that I've personally seen and tried. So if you are in need of something like this, check it out. It does it's job wonderfully. The guitar samples sound decent with headphones and the interface really is pretty easy.
