Star Wars is most likely the largest movie franchise in the world. It is instantly recognizable around the world and the name alone suggests billions of dollars in merchandise and a whole world of gaming. The iPhone has seen plenty of Star Wars apps from the initial lightsaber app to the Star Wars: Force Unleashed game.
Now, not wanting to be shown up by an independent developer, THQ has released their own light saber duel app. This app is pretty much exactly the same as any other app aside from a few new features. Players can select a lightsaber from most of the popular Star Wars characters including those from the games and animated series. Once a saber is chosen, players can enjoy messing around alone, or pair up via bluetooth to battle it out. Though there is no sword fighting system like that found in a similar samurai app, the duels were still fun. You can take a picture from your library and make a character for yourself with a custom lightsaber.
You can also use force lightning with select characters though that's where I started to see some bugs. Overall, the app is fun and makes for a good joke but it will ultimately fall short with terrible ui design and zero replayability. The game is available for only a dollar which is nice though and yes, it works on the iPad for those of you who want a larger saber.
