One of the biggest issues that the iPhone camera has is a lack of image stabilization. The camera isn?t the greatest quality so moving it around while taking a picture, especially in low light situations will result in some very poor pictures. SteadyCam will help you out with that, to a point.
This app has a really simple interface so it doesn?t take much explaining. When you launch it, you?re presented with the typical camera interface. If you turn your device sideways, the camera icon doesn?t rotate like the Camera app would, but besides that it?s mostly the same.
When you press the camera button, instead of just taking the picture like the normal camera app does, this app displays a timer in the form of a bar.
The bar fills up as you continue to hold the iPhone steady and will snap a picture when the bar is completely full. If you happen to move the iPhone while the bar is filling up, you?ll end up resetting the timer completely. After the picture is snapped the app automatically saves the image whether you want it to or not.
All this app does is makes it easier for you to take a steady picture. It doesn?t apply any filters or change the picture at all. For a free app, this is definitely handy if you want to try your best to take a steady picture. Hopefully we?ll see the ability to discard or save the picture added to this app in the future, but for now you?ll just have to delete the ones you don?t like after the fact.
