Strands is a social networking aggregate for the iPhone and iPod Touch. At the time of this review, Strands was still in a beta period, but the developers have decided to invite all AppVee readers to try out strands by registering with the promo code: StrandsiPhone.

It?s really hard to review a service when it?s in beta due to the lack of interaction you?ll get from it, especially with this being a social media app. The basic idea behind Strands is for people to connect through Strands and be able to see all the different things that each of their friends do on multiple different social networking sites. Adding a friend to Strands brings all of their accounts right to your app for you to view, but unfortunately none of this can be done on the app as of now.

When you register for Strands, you?ll need to be at a computer. This process requires you to leave the app behind and create an account plus add all your other social networking accounts to Strands. On top of that, you?ll have to find other individuals that you?ll want to connect with over Strands on your computer as well before this app is really useful. The app serves as just a viewer for Strands, so don?t expect much out of it at this point.

Strands feels a lot like FriendFeed. Considering that FriendFeed has such a large following already, it wouldn?t be surprising to see them come in with an app and really give Strands a run for their money. Considering they provided us with a promo code, all AppVee users should really check this app out and make it grow as it will honestly help you keep track of all the different social networks those in your world belong to.
