Surface to Air Mayhem is a game for the iPhone and iPod Touch that puts you in control of a turret used to defend your Air Force Base. Wave after wave of enemy aircrafts will attempt to destroy your base unless you manage to shoot them and their missiles out of the sky.

This arcade style game is actually fairly addicting once you get a hang of it. Where you tap on the screen determines not only where the missile goes but where it explodes. This can be really helpful if you're trying to blow up a bomb and a plane at the same time.

If you get bombarded and can't handle the heat, shake your iPhone to load up Mayhem Mode which will launch a series of rockets that will completely clear the sky. This is really useful when you're starting off as you'll need a little while to get use to the whole aiming system.

The full version of the game offers up 65 levels for you to play through but if you're not ready to shell out the money you can always try the lite version. It's definitely an enjoyable game, but there's not much difference in each level except for the number of planes and rate they cross the screen at.
