SurfaceDJ is a musical app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. With this app you?ll be able to play through three different songs and manipulate them to a certain degree with the ten different options you?re given per song.
Unfortunately this app isn?t as great as one would hope. What you?re actually doing in this app is pulling up any combination of the ten different effects that you?re given onto the mixing board for them to play. The higher you put them up on the board, the louder they get, but that seems to be about all you can do with them.
Each song has a its own set of sound effects from the ten different buttons that you drag onto the surface. The issue is, these buttons all jump immediately in beat with whatever button you?ve already placed up there. There?s no way to mix things up or get creative. It?s basically just playing a song and determining what parts of the song you want to listen to.
SurfaceDJ is a cool idea that falls too far short to be worth it. There is no control in this app whatsoever, making it pretty pointless in using. Perhaps if you wanted to listen to one of the three songs that come with the app it would be worth downloading, but on the interactive side? Epic Fail.
