Sword & Poker is an app that blends two different genres of games in a way that I never thought I would see. It basically takes the formula of a Pokemon game and blends it with poker. Instead of battling with powers and specials, players will attack the enemy hitpoints by creating different poker hands. In a battle, there are already cards laid out on the table and it is the players job to take two cards from their hand to make a poker hand on the table.
Each player takes turns until the board is completely filled. Each time a hand is made, hitpoints are subtracted from the enemy player based on how good the hand is.
Essentially this game is a poker variant disguised as an adventure game. The developers have included a multiplayer feature but there is no online, wifi, or bluetooth available. Players must play on the same device.
Overall, the game was still fun because poker is a fun game to play. But as for it's lasting value, the game grows repetitive quickly. I suggest checking out the lite version in the app store before spending the money for the full version. It definitely was a fun game, but it didn't have enough in my opinion.
