Thirsty Pocket is a buy and sell app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Extremely similar to Craigslist or other online markets, Thirsty Pocket looks to dominate the iPhone market by offering an exclusive app to make buying and selling easy on the device. With an easy, user-friendly interface, Thirsty Pocket makes it extremely simple to take a picture and add information to complete a fill profile for the item you are selling. Buying is also simple with users able to search within a category for items and then contact those who are selling them.
The real downside to this app is it's lack of users.
As with many great start-up apps, Thirsty Pocket struggles with having the user base that makes useful tools like this so helpful. It is definitely competing with apps that access Craiglist such as Craigsphone or something similar and the lack of a web-based central site makes Thirsty Pocket less than ideal compared to the always-accessible Craiglist for constantly checking up on your posts wherever you are.
Overall, this app has really offered a lot for those who are looking to sell and buy. It may gain popularity in the future for users to market their used items. But from where it stands now, there are just too many apps out there that offer the exact same features which access Craigslist, and it just does not have a large enough user base to compete. This app is free, so I definitely recommend checking it out anyways.
