There are plenty of tap music apps in the app store. Every single app offers a very similar experience. Colored dots fall from the top and it is the player's job to tap them as they reach a bar. Thumpies is an app that dares to challenge that standard by creating a whole new concept for the genre. Instead of colored dots, player will create beats using falling, fuzzy monsters.

As the monsters hit the drums on the bottom of the screen the users have to tap the drum. The difference is that the monsters bounce over to other drums to create the rhythm. As the player progresses through the game, they will have to manage multiple monsters at the same time and tap the occasional butterfly that flies by. The concept really works well and the music created is both weird and catchy at the same time. As players collect butterflies, they will unlock new thumpies to use in the game. Each of the thumpies has its own unique look that I can only describe as eerie and macabre.

Overall, the game is a very unique and made for some fun times. It's not an app that will last long on your device but is a great experience while you have it. There's a free version in the app store so check it out.
