TightWire from iBright Studios is a game of patience and precision. Carefully maneuvering across a suspended tight rope stories above the concrete you will battle wind, your own fatigue, and balancing skills while trying to safely reach the awaiting rooftop. In the same vein as “Done Drinking,” TightWire is a fun and easy game involving tilting your device to keep upright. It is a perfect pick up and play game. With its detailed graphics, fun sound effects and easy to learn hard to master controls, TightWire will have you coming back for more.
The controls are easy to learn but take some getting used to. Tilting the device towards or away from you will move your high-wire act forward or reverse. A tilt to the left or right balances your daredevil.
The speed of the character is determined by the degree of the tilting. The controls work really well and are very responsive. To further improve the quality of the controls use the built in calibration tool found in the options menu. However, even when calibrated there is a slight learning curve with the game in general as you learn to properly balance.
The sound effects are very appropriate as the character gives off grunts of worry and screams of despair when he falls towards the street below. The sound effects from the crashes are very well done, and when coupled with the animations, the game is simply a joy to watch.
iBright Studios successfully created a fun, inexpensive game with a good gaming experience and replay value. The gameplay is easy enough for most novice gamers to learn while being challenging for the most ardent of gamers to master.
