Toy Tanks 3D is an on rails shooter for the iPhone and iPod Touch. This game offers some pretty sharp looking cartoon 3D graphics and interesting gameplay, but it might not be enough to convince all of you to buy it.

The game has you riding in a slow moving tank, shooting at your enemies as they appear on your path. Toy Tanks 3D offers two different modes of play, campaign and arcade. Both seem to play out in a similar fashion, however, one will advance with a story line while the other is just an attempt to get a high score. Both handle the same way when you actually get into combat.

You can control your tank through either accelerometer or touch controls. You only move the gun and you don?t have a full 360 degree turning radius, so you?ll be stuck just shooting what?s in front of you. To prevent yourself from taking full damage from the enemy units, you can duck down into your tank by pressing the button on the left. The button on the right will allow you to fire, but you won?t be firing anywhere near the rate that the other tanks are firing.

The slow pace of the tank coupled with the fact that you can?t fire nearly as fast as your enemies will definitely turn you off from this game. There are powerups to help you out along the way and to make things a bit more interesting, but our advice would be to try the free lite version first. This is a great looking game, it?s just a little too slow for us to actually enjoy.
