Turbo Subs is a very addictive restaurant serving game. You're the owner of a sub shop just trying to make your way in the big city. You have to take orders, serve sandwiches, chips, pop, cookies, cotton candy, and coffee to customers, and pick up tips.
Things start off really easy (on the easy levels) and progressively get more difficult. The speed at which things get difficult is not too fast as to make it impossible, but not too slow as to make it boring. You start to get into a flow when serving customers; make sure coffee is made, give menus, serve orders, take tips, rinse repeat.
The game includes various upgrades: serving courses, cooking courses, better cookies, double coffee machine, faster toaster, etc. All of the upgrades are bought with money made serving. Some upgrades help you with serving directly ie. more coffee, larger cotton candy machine, faster oven, larger sandwich table. Some upgrades help you earn stars easier ie. floor replacement, new door, etc.
If you serve people quickly enough, you'll increase your star rating. Once your star rating reaches 5, you go into overdrive and can serve people in fast forward.
To do any of the actions, it's just a simple tap. Sometimes I found it difficult to tap on the different stations but it was probably my fat fingers more so than anything else.
The key to this game is chaining actions. If a customer wants cookies and another wants pop, then pick up the pop and the cookies at the same time. If you're getting cotton candy, brew another two cups of coffee while you're at it. You're able to carry two things at once, which can help a lot.
It's possible to stack actions on top of each other and you will do them in the order you entered them. This is the only way to stay sane while trying to serve all these people.
There are 6 Chapters total: the first two are on a subway train, the second two are on a carousel, and I'm not sure about the last two (I haven't made it that far yet). Each chapter has 10 levels.
I found the easiest way (and the best way for getting combos) to deal with customers was to start from the bottom and work my way up. No new customer will come until you've picked up the tips, so you can use it as a way to not handle customers until you're ready for them. Then I could serve a lot of customers at once, get all sorts of combo bonuses, and often get 5 star speedups too. Later on they introduce thieves which means you can't wait quite as long to pick up tips, but the same basic principle applies.
I ended up disabling the sound, not because it was bad but because it was too loud. I tried adjusting the sound in the game's options but it would either make the game too quiet or make the end sound too loud.
I had trouble putting this game down. It was very addictive. I played till level 32 before I could bring myself to put it down and write this review. This is a great game to own and play, but beware, it will take up hours of your time.
