Tweetie has been hailed as arguably the best twitter app for the iPhone and is used by many twitter users as their goto twitter app. Well now the second iteration of the popular app has been released and along with it comes a ton of great interface changes and speed improvements. With this new version of the app, users will have to pay again to get it but it is arguably worth the price being asked.

The speed is top notch in this version of the app and refreshing your lists is as easy as pulling down and releasing. Landscape mode has been added as well as numurous compose features such as recent hashtags, @people picker and url shortening. The feature list is huge and almost impossible to cover in one short review. There are a few complaints though. Tweetie 1.0 had the ability to pick themes which has now been removed though I fully expect them to add it in an update.

Aside from missing the groups feature that is found in the TweetDeck app, Tweetie 2.0 is a full-fledged Twitter app that enables users to edit almost every single part of their Twitter experience and could eliminate the need for twitter on a pc. It has so many features that are both simple and elegant while being extremely useful. Whether you have been using Tweetie 1.0 or another client, this is a definite grab if you are a twitter power user. Check it out.
