TwitVid for the iPhone 3GS only does one thing, and it does it flawlessly. The developer, Falcons App, created Twitvid for the sole purpose of tweeting videos from the iPhone 3GS. I am extemely impressed with this application. From its ease of use to quick upload speeds this app is one to have.
Once you are logged in, the app presents you with one of two options. Record a video or select an existing video. If you choose record a video, you are taken into the camera mode where you shoot a video in portrait or landscape. If you choose to select an existing video instead, you are taken to your camera roll showing all the current videos on your iPhone. Apps do not get much easier to use than this. Once you have recorded or selected your video add some text to it and then just post it.
Your followers will be watching your video in no time.
The speed of the upload is quite impressive. I was able to upload a 10 second video over wifi in about 15 to 20 seconds. And uploading a similar length clip over 3G was easily completed in under a minute. The processing time between uploading your video and it being available to watch it is pretty much nonexistant. The developers claim that your followers on Twitter can even start watching your video before it is completely uploaded.
Throughout the entire process of testing this app, everything just worked. The only additions to this app that I would request would be the ability to trim the videos that are taken from within the app and then for the videos to be saved in your camera roll for later viewing. Twitvid is currently lacking both these feature and users could really benefit from them.
All in all, because Twitvid works so well and the cost is free, the only reason a 3GS owner should not have this, is if they do not use Twitter.
