USA Today has decided to release an app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. With this app you can easily browse through the latest news, sports scores, weather, and photos from USA Today while on the go.
The app is broken down into five different tabs: Headlines, Scores, Weather, Pictures, and Snapshots. Headlines will show you the top stories in all the major categories of USA Today. When you open a story you can even text, email, or tweet. You can only tweet the story if you have the Twitterific app installed. Scores shows you all the sports scores for the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NCAAF, and NCAAB for the past few days.
Weather shows you the five day forcast for New York City, Los Angelas, Chicago, and your current location. You can also view the radar for that area or the national weather map. Pictures will show you all of the daily or weekly pictures for sports, celebrities, science, travel and weather. Snapshots allows you to see a quick image with a caption and state your opinion through a vote.
The developers of this app clearly spent a lot of time using the Facebook app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Visually, the top looks a lot like the main page of the Facebook app. This makes the app a little bit more familiar feeling when you load it up.
