Vektrax is a 3D racing shooter for the iPhone and iPod Touch. This game puts you in control of a spaceship armed with its fair share of weapons on a roller-coaster type course. This game is really enjoyable and introduces a few great things to iPhone gaming that we haven't seen yet.

You control your spaceship by tilting your iPhone from side to side. You can lean formward or backward as well, but that just shows you more of the racetrack. The gun on the front of the ship does autofire, so you won't have to worry about that. All you need to keep track of is your fuel boosts on the sides of the screen as they don't do anything special if you let them stay full all the time.

The first thing you should do before you play Vektrax is open your iPod and start a song or album that you like. The game allows you to play it in the background, giving it a very similar feel to AudioSurf. Unfortunately the environment doesn't really change based on the music, but it's a great first step.

This is a really enjoyable game at a great price. There are plenty of levels and the graphics and feel are really spot on. Considering you can listen to your music while playing, this game is really perfect for just sitting back with your iPhone and gaming for a bit.
