VirtualPool for the iPhone offers up the sweet feeling of nostalgia that most older computer users will remember from the turn of 3D gaming. VirtualPool gives you the chance to play a completely 3D game of pool directly on your iPhone, complete with a career mode and quick play options.
The game handles very well. You use your finger anywhere on the screen to move your shot around. You can change your angle in all direction to get the absolute best shot possible. Once you've lined it up perfectly, you can tap and pull on the ball itself to pull the stick back. You'll have to work on perfecting just how much force you put into it, but it's fairly easy to determine how hard your shot is going to be.
The career mode allows you to create a profile and play through several games. It's great for keeping track of how good you're doing and trying to best an actual opponent instead of just playing by yourself. The videos that they show when the app loads and when you select career are kind of cheesy and low quality. It does show effort on the part of the developer though.
VirtualPool is really enjoyable and allows for tons of fun to be had by anyone. You really don't need to love pool to enjoy this game. The fact that you can exit the game and pick it back up at any point makes it really great for a sit and go game.
