Voice Keyboard is essentially an iPhone synthesizer that allows you to record your voice and create custom samples that can be played on a virtual keyboard. These samples can be saved for later use and the app gives users many options to select for customizing the sound to achieve the desired effect. The app is actually very easy to use. Pressing the record button, it will record any audio coming in and pressing stop will cue that audio into the keyboard.

From there, users can beginning play notes or select a couple options that will affect the sound. The sustain can be turning on and off and notes can be timeshifted to run at the same speed but at different pitches. This is the first issue I noticed with the app. When I clicked timeshift it gave me a warning that the process can take a while with longer notes. I tried it out with a short recording and the process took a total of ten minutes to complete. This renders the feature almost unusable because it really is not worth it to wait 10 minutes for a change.

Saving and opening the notes went pretty smooth but I did have some crashes occasionally which did get annoying. The app itself is a great idea, and did give me some fun times recording my voice and playing little ditties for a while. But as for an app that I would have on my phone, I don't see why I'd keep it. Especially after taking the price into consideration, this app does not have much staying power in my opinion. There is a free version to try out in the app store, so look into that before paying the money for the full version. I think you will agree with what I'm saying.
