SUMMARY: Wake up to your own music with this simple app

WakeTunes is a very simple application for the iPhone and iPod Touch that allows you to use a song from your own music library as an alarm to wake up to. While the app\'s simplicity makes it accessible to any user, it does lack some expected features.

The first thing you\'ll see when you open the app is a volume slider to set your desired alarm volume level. At this point, if you don\'t set your volume you won\'t be able to adjust it again unless you restart the application. The song you last selected is displayed with the options to play or pause the music. Album artwork is nicely presented with the current time in a fairly large font and the alarm time in small print. The UI is very simplistic and plain, but makes for an easy to use application.

Options include an auto sleep toggle, song selection, wake time selection and snooze interval. From this page, you can choose any song from your iPod library to wake up to. After selecting your wake time and snooze interval, you can go back to the main page to verify your song selection and alarm time. From the main page you can play your song to make sure it is set at your desired volume level.

That\'s about it for this simple application. It works just fine, and will definitely allow you to wake up to whatever song you want. However, there are many options that the application just does not have. For example, you can only set one alarm time. Even the default clock application allows more than one alarm setting. Also, it might be nice to have the option to make a list of songs that the app could randomly choose from, so you could wake up to a new song everyday. The app is just a little too simple. If you\'re really looking for a way to wake up to your own music, I suggest checking out other applications that do it a bit better.
