Watchmen: Justice is Coming is an online role playing game based of the official movie based off the official graphic novel. If your even remotely involved with the latest gossip on fanboy films, chances are you've already tried this game out before I could even get a review up. So this review will be for those of us who have never even heard of Watchmen and are just looking for an interesting game. Being one of the first of it's kind on the iPhone, Watchmen is pioneering some new ideas and as such, finding new limitations. The game is setup to feel similar to something like Runescape or similar online RPGs. You create your username and password and immediately create your character. The options in the beginning are slim, but new costume parts can be find simply by searching a nearby dumpster (kinda weird if you think about it).

The game will have you roaming around New York city to complete missions, meet friends, or duke it out with some non playable characters. The combat system is handled a bit like a rock paper scissors match in that each move beats a different one. Win enough bouts and you will beat your opponent. Perhaps the most distressing feature in this game is the loading screens. You will be forced to watch a loading sequence after almost every action. Fighting, changing areas, and the like will have you watching the city fly by as you wonder if you should do some laundry while you wait.

Overall, Watchmen: Justice is Coming is a game for the fans and to build hype for the movie, it introduces some new ways to use our phone but also reminds us of old limitations. For the price it's being offered for, it's definitely worth checking out. But chances are the loading sequences will last longer than you will.
