SUMMARY: Your own personal weight-tracking robot

Weightbot is a weight tracking app for the iPhone and iPod Touch designed to look and sound like your own personal robot. The app allows you to set a desired weight, whether it be a loss or a gain, and easily monitor your progress. Just remember, you'll have to supply your own scale.

When you load up the app, you'll want to head right over to the personal information area. This is where you set your goal weight and height. You can also set a passcode so no one can view the contents of the app without it and toggle the sounds and units of measurement for the app itself.

There's a list of instructions, but the app is pretty self explanatory. Tap on the LED when you've selected the date you want to enter a weight for then select the desired weight and tap the LED again and you're good to go. You can also turn the device sideways to see your progress in chart mode to get a better feel for how you're doing. And don't forget, shaking the app when you've selected a certain date will erase the information.

Weightbot only has one real issue, BMI. BMI is something that has been shifted out of focus as many doctors are looking at percentage of body fat as a more accurate source of information. So if you're a short but muscular individual, you may find Weightbot displaying your BMI in red when it isn't anything to worry about.
