SUMMARY: It's like a portable TV Guide for anywhere in the United States

Check out appoLearning.com, because your kids deserve the very best educational apps!

Roommate steal the remote and you can't figure out what time the LOST repeats start tonight? No problem! With What's On? you can easily scan through the listings of what TV shows are on what channel in your area simply be entering your ZIP.

The app is very simple and doesn't really offer anything visually attractive. What's more confusing is that it doesn't attempt to locate you and provide you with your ZIP like other apps have. While this does mean that you can enter in any ZIP and see what's playing in that area, you could also just press ?don't allow? and do the same thing.

When everything does load up, it allows you to select from all the service providers in that area and figure out which one you or the persons house you're at has. From there it loads things up like a normal guide menu on your TV, but it includes a search function. The search function does make things go a lot faster, especially if you know what you're looking for.

Unless you don't have guide or are trying to help a friend that for some reason can't figure out how to work their TV but won't relinquish their remote, What's On? isn't that useful. Sure you can probably use it to figure out if you've missed a TV show on your ride home, but it doesn't really add anything over searching for something specific in Safari.
