With the popularity of the iphone and ipod touch continuing to rise. We are finding more and more that mothers and children are using them frequently. Wheels on the Bus is an application for the iphone and ipod touch that looks to provide a great experience for children and a great distraction for overwhelmed mothers. The application is an interactive storybook, similiar to those founds in pc games for children. It follows a variation of the classic song "Wheels on the Bus" and offers a great deal of sounds and animations to keep children entertained. The artwork in this app is great, emulating the style of many popular children's cartoons with it's clean and bright look.
To compliment the great artwork, its creators included a different sound for every animation giving life it each animation trigger by the motion or touch.Perhaps the most interesting feature on this app, is the ability to change the music. The app offers the song in 5 different languages (English, French, Spanish, Italian, and German), and gives the option to hearthe song with different instruments playing the melody. There is even an option to record your own voice for each slide.
The music can get annoying but luckily the creators have included an option to disable it. The only downside to this is the inability to keep the sound effects on while turning the music off. But that is the only complaint we could find with this great application. Wheels on the Bus is everything one could look for in a children's application. With it's great artwork, music, sound effects and interactivity, it is sure to be a great addition to any mother's collection. Definitely pick it up!
