Wired is an app for the iPhone and iPod Touch that connects you directly to all the different Wired product reviews. This app is really straight forward and offers you basically a reformatted version of all the reviews you could wish for directly on your device.
The main screen of this app shows twelve different images for you to click on. These images coincide with the review categories. The categories are cars, video cameras, desktop computers, still cameras, video games, audio equipment, power tools, cell phones, laptops, portable music devices, sporting goods, and display devices. When you select a category, all the reviews are listed there for you to browse through. At the top of the page you?ll see options to sort the reviews by name, latest reviewed, price, and rating. This makes browsing a whole lot easier.
If you?d rather search for something specific you can press the search button at the bottom left of the screen. Here you can type in any keyword you?re looking for and it will display the results. Unfortunately the search area doesn?t offer any way to sort through the reviews that it pulls up. When you tap on a specific review, you?re brought to its profile page. Here you?ll see the name, rating, cost, an image, and the written review from Wired. If you want, you can email this review by pressing the middle button at the bottom of the screen.
Wired reviews are always great to read through when you?re considering buying a product or just looking for a new toy. This app isn?t flashy, but it doesn?t have to be.
