Word games seem to be the most popular type of game for the iPhone at present. While some of them add something new to the iPhone, WordWhirl comes across as Sextuple Word Challenge in a different packaging. There have been plenty of apps that have come out since the launch of the App Store, so it's expected that we will find some repeats.
The object of this game is to use the letters that it's set out for you to make as many words as possible. Each game offers a series of blank spaces that you'll need to fill with the right letter combinations. There's a time limit for each level, so you'll have to stay sharp and try your best. Plus if you get stuck you can always switch around the order of the letters for a hint.
WordWhirl really does come across as exactly the same game as Sextuple Word Challenge. That's because it is. Despite it's new theme, the only thing that it has going for it that makes it different is that it has a multiplayer mode. Multiplayer mode requires you to have two iPhone with the game installed on it. Then one player hosts while the other joins.
Requiring you to have two copies of this game and two iPhones for multiplayer really makes that feature that much less appealing. The app doesn't bring much to the table that wasn't already there. So if you have Sextuple Word Challenge, pass on this app. If you don't and you have friends who want this app too, pick it up for the multiplayer.
