WOW NEWS is an app for the iPhone and iPod Touch that allows you to read news related to the popular video game World of Warcraft. This app claims that it isn?t just an RSS aggregator because it goes out of its way to reform the posts. Regardless of what they think, this is just a World of Warcraft news aggregator.
The app is broken up into four categories: Breaking News, Wrath of the Lich King News, Class News, and Videos. The three news sections each provide you with different articles from other websites formatted to be easily read through the app. If you?d like you can view a modified version of the original article through the browser aspect of the app. At least they don?t spit you out into Safari to read the article.
The videos section is kind of neat. This does provide you with aggregated videos from the World of Warcraft that are enjoyable to watch. One thing you?ll notice throughout the entire site is the fact that there are comments on the original articles and then comments through the app itself. This is unfortunate as those comments really belong on the original website instead of sitting on some app that pulled in their content.
If you don?t mind shelling out a dollar to read up on news you could get for free elsewhere, then check out this app. If it was free it wouldn?t be too bad, but there?s no reason to pay for a news aggregator, especially when it?s for such a popular game. Chances are you?
